I am beyond excited to share with you my family’s very favorite hotel – Shamakhi Palace Sharadil. It’s a luxury 5-star mountain resort located in the Shamakhi region of Azerbaijan (about 140 km from Baku and 19 km from the city of Shamakhi).
It’s not difficult to feel good in a luxurious hotel, but there’re some specific ways in which this one stands out from the rest. Thanks to those qualities it’s now our №1 hotel for a long-awaited family holiday.
What makes Shamakhi Palace stand out?
Location
Shamakhi Palace Sharadil is located in the Agsu mountains among some of the most picturesque forests in Azerbaijan. It’s easy to reach; the road is in a very good condition and every now and then there’s a possibility to stop for soaking in the breathtaking view around you.
Interior Design
I’ve never seen a more stunning interior of a hotel (and anything else, in that matter) in my entire life! Everything screams luxury and style but in a good way that makes you feel comfortable (not out of place). Everywhere you turn there’s a beautiful and welcoming lounge set that ignites your senses and sends your inspiration and imagination skyrocketing.
I’m not a connoisseur of opulent furniture and most of the time I feel rather awkward in such surroundings. Here, however, everything is arranged in such a way that the atmosphere is mesmerizing and somehow even cozy. I ended up dreaming of early mornings spent working comfortably on the lounge set located outside of our room (while the rest of the family’s sleeping inside) or wondering around the library and gathering lifestyle inspiration galore. 🙂
Anyway, the point is: luxury can be not only beautiful but also comfortable.
Light and colors
I don’t know what it is with modern hotels being so dark and muted all the time. I always find myself craving for light and some brighter colors to lighten up the atmosphere. Thankfully, Shamakhi Palace doesn’t fall into that category. The hotel has the brightest interior I’ve ever seen. Colors are used in a much greater variety with very good taste and always causing a welcoming sensation.
Not once did I feel the need for yet another lamp!
I love it!
Rooms, Staff & Services
Just like I mentioned above – the rooms are bright and comfortable. Just the right amount of furniture and decorations. I personally loved the orchid (real one) placed next to our coffee/tea set. Being a mom of littles, I also highly appreciated the kids’ compliments, as well as (of course!) the variety of nuts and pastries for weary parents. 🙂 Those little things set you up for a successful vacation immediately! 🙂
Staff is nice and kind; speaks Russian and/or English.
Swimming pool and SPA Center
I’m not a fan of spending time in swimming pools because it’s either crowded (in summer) or cold (in winter). However, I loooooved this one! The whole SPA and Swimming Pool Center was very warm and there was a big jacuzzi with hot water which quickly got even me into a swimming suit and downstairs for some relaxing time (well, as much as it can be relaxing with 1 and 4 year olds). 🙂
I also highly appreciate that the swimming pool and SPA center aren’t located on the lobby floor, because I always feel awkward passing in a bathrobe among people in suits or others who have just arrived and checking-in.
The Swimming Pool and SPA Center, as well as the kids playground and the restaurant in which we had breakfast are all located on -1 level and thus make for a much more comfortable stay.
