Here it is – a brand new year, filled with question marks. 2021. We waited for it, we welcomed it, and now we have to make it a year to be proud of. Or at least – a better one than the one before it. That’s why in today’s blog post we will recall 10 small but powerful tricks. With their help, hopefully, on December 31st 2021, we’ll finally exclaim “Well, it WAS a better year! Despite everything.” Because, let’s be honest – obstacles, difficulties and challenges are part of life, and we’re sure going to continue experiencing them from time to time. The important thing is to get up and continue forward.
Now, some of you may say that they lack consistency, inspiration, or motivation, but my advice is to try at least 1 or 2 of the things listed below. You can also add something of your own. Something that you know for sure that it can be a game-changer for you. Something that will contribute to a fuller, happier, and healthier lifestyle over the next 365 days.
The effect will not be late.
Here I should note that not everything is applicable to everyone. For example, if you are a mother with a newborn, 8 hours of good sleep every night may not be the best choice (no matter how much you want it). 🙂 On the other hand, a healthy menu with wholesome food will compensate for the energy you lack of not getting enough sleep. Always choose goals and challenges that are compatible with your way of life. Start with small steps. And do them every day.
- Say “No” to processed food
I’m sure you’re familiar with the “benefits” of packaged food. That’s right – there aren’t any. Certainly, not for your health. I’m also sure that you can replace at least 70% of the processed foods you consume on a daily bases with vegetables, fruits and, of course, some delicious home-cooked meals. Trust me, I’ve tried. And it works wonders.
2. Say “Yes” to water and tea
Even if you don’t reach the recommended 2-3 liters per day, try to increase your daily water intake. Tea is fine too.
3. Say “No” to the mess
A messy home consumes your energy, inspiration and concentration. Try to control the chaos by decluttering regularly (step by step) in order to feel more balance, peace and comfort in your own home.
4. Say “Yes” to exercise
The Internet is full of all sorts of workouts, suitable for any schedule. Even if it is only for 5-10 minutes a day, you will undoubtedly strengthen your tonus, self-confidence and health. So use those 10 minutes! Daily.
5. Say “No” to bad habits
Alas, bad habits are sticky. They stick to you and you can’t expect them to leave unless you chase them away. Choose one bad habit and get rid of it in 2021.
6. Say “Yes” to good habits
A bad habit goes away more easily when you have something to replace it with. So choose a good one. And be proud of it. 🙂
7. Say “No” to laziness
Relax regularly, but don’t get lazy. An active lifestyle is much more exciting and productive than the sofa in front of the TV.
8. Say “Yes” to books
If reading is not a part of your daily life yet, it’s time to give books a second chance. Even if it’s only for half an hour before bed, the pages pile up, and with them we grow, learn, and flourish.
9. Say “No” to comparison
Stop comparing yourself to anyone else. You’re one of a kind. Accept yourself and celebrate the small victories.
10. Say “Yes” to sleep
As tempting as the small hours can be, try to get at least 7-8 hours of good sleep every night. You will quickly feel the wonders that a rested body can do for you. Your energy and productivity levels will increase, and you will certainly perceive the world in a more positive way. 🙂
Say “Yes” to 2021! New. Unfamiliar. It will not be perfect.
But we will make it a better one!
Have a wonderful New year!
